Flu Blues

Kinnon's down with an ear infection and throat infection so we have had to bring him to the doctor's on Saturday. The fever is not too high, but it kept coming back so we had a couple of sleepless nights. I took leave on Monday and Laura took leave today just to monitor his situation. His on a course of antibiotics and it is a realy struggle just getting him to take his medicine. (I am sure it is pretty much the same with other babies)

Holiday Time

Laura and I decided to have our first vacation with Baby Kinnon. We decided to go back to Rasa Sentosa, the island resort where we were married in 2002. Here we have Laura and Kinnon playing on the beach in front of the hotel. One thing we really liked about the hotel it's proximity to the beach. Kinnon however, didn't quite take to playing in the sand. That's the problem when playgrounds have artifical surfacing rather than sand.

The next stop when went to was a butterfly park. Laura and I never realised that there are so much more varieties of butterfly species here in the tropics as compared to temperate regions. The ranger at the park was really nice and he took out all these newly hatched butterflies and attached them to my ears, hair, nose and hands. Most of them have to wait a couple of days before they "warm up" and are ready to fly.

We went to a couple more places after that, the Underwater World was quite an experience even though Kinnon fell asleep after a short while. I don't think he managed to see the frolicking dolphins during the show at the dolphin laguna. The real disappointment was the musical fountain. We kinda of liked how it was in the past, where it was simply choreographed fountains to music. Now, they have this fancy laser show with a fancy story which really detracts from the original idea of the musical fountain and is really just too tacky. Anyhows, Kinnon was so upset after a while, that we decided to leave when it started raining.
