Announcing the Arrival of Ashlynn

Okay, people have been bugging us to post pictures of the new baby...
I am backdating this post... but yes, yes, Laura to announce of our daughter, Ashlynn Claire TAN Ching Yi. Her Chinese name is 陈青宇,青 means "green" and 宇 "universe".

She arrived on early Friday morning 29th June 2007 at 3:57am. She weighed in at 3.27kgs or 7.2 pounds and measured 47cm long. She came early and her ETD was supposed to be 3 July, so Daddy was a little caught off gaurd when mommy told him that her waters had burst Thursday lunch. However, we are all joking that Ashlynn had the good sense to come before the raise in the Good and Services Tax (1 July) to save daddy and mommy 2% off the final hospital bill.

Laura successfully had a drug free birth, although I didn't really know whether we were going to make it. However, we did and we are pretty happy about it. We didn't know about the gender of the baby before this, so we were really elated to find out it was a girl.
